October 2013 has to be the best month for the gadget folks. From Google to HTC to Nintendo there are lots of new electronic devices that are released this month. It has been rumored that Google is planning to release its Android version 4.4 – KitKat this October as well. iOS is undoubtedly one of the most popular and used operating system in the mobile market. However, ever since Android was released to the general public by Google, it forever changed the mobile market and gave Apple a healthy competition. It is still not clear why the name Kit-Kat was dubbed for Android 4.4.

However, as the saying goes what’s in a name. Here are the current expected features from Android 4.4 KitKat. The predecessors for Android 4.4 requires a significant amount of hardware power to perform at its best. So, it was rumored that Google spent an extensive amount of its time optimizing and updating the Android operating system. It is said that the new Android 4.4 KitKat will run efficiently on as little as 512 MB of RAM.


In February 2013 Android Central informed that Google is working actively on the Linux 3.8 kernel. Unlike other operating system Linux is well known for its efficient usage of memory. Making it part of the Android device will give Android a huge boost in its overall performance. Other than that it is expected that Android 4.4 KitKat will be released on the 14th of this month and will feature gallery tweaks, updated API for animation, and notification updates.
