Ubuntu Edge is a mobile phone and a full running desktop all in one.


The project aim is to accelerate the adoption of new technologies and drive them down into the mainstream mobile computing professionals. The smartphone that is a new innovation will provide grounds for more advance mobile technology creations.


The Ubuntu Edge will be able to dual-boot both the android an Ubuntu mobile OS.  The Ubuntu mobile OS will be the Ubuntu desktop OS every one is used to using on a daily basis but runs directly from the phone.

Basically the phone it self will have all the smartphone capabilities preferred but with the brain of the PC at home. So in the future you will have no need for a desktop any more.


Ubuntu Edge is asking for $32 million to help fund the project so that they can deliver the phone to you in May 2014.
