 1. Smartphone Eye App tested in Kenya:


A new Android smartphone eye app used for eye examination and diagnostic kit will be tested in Kenya, the first African destination in which the app will debut. It will be low cost to help people in poor African countries have access to free medicare. The team behind the Portable Eye Examination Kit (Peek) app told PING! Magazine that the app carries out a full range of ophthalmic diagnostic tests in very remote settings, as well as being able to run visualisations of the back of the eye.

Google is offering Women in Tech Conference and Travel Grants for female computer scientists as part of their on-going commitment to encourage women to excel in computing and technology.



4. Outlook intergrade with Skype


On Monday Microsoft announced that it has merged their biggest commutation service together Skype and Outlook.  This is available to customers in the U.S, U.K, Germany, Brazil, Canada and France.  It will allow people to use video calling and messaging services directly from their e-mail.

5. YouTube programme expands to more African countries


The YouTube Partner Program is opened to a wide range of people such young animators, makeup artists and independent movie producers. The program is going to be expanding across African countries – Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal and Uganda in an effort to reward content providers for their work, with money earned from their videos.
