Swedish extreme supercar maker Koenigsegg is celebrating its hundredth production vehicle at Geneva 2013, and instead of buying a cake it’s built a very special example of the 1,030hp Agera R called the Hundra. Finished in bare carbon fibre with pure gold inlays, it is by far the least subtle version of this already unsubtle car that we’ve ever seen.

It’s a shame that it’s so garish, really, as we’ve always had a soft spot for this beautifully engineered dream machine With the DOHC 32-valve V-8 5 liters with twin turbochargers and dry-sump lubrication, the Hundra powered up to 1030 hp. The electronic systems for the car are a real step forward for all vehicles by using a fire-proof, lightweight lithium-iron (not lithium-ion) battery and solid-state digital semiconductors for everything that would be fuse or relay-operated in a normal car thereby ensuring safety. Very well known for its acceleration and speed, it can sprint to 60mph in 2.8 seconds and can reach the 273mph speed mark. The Agera S Hundra is a masterpiece that few will ever really experience.

Still no sign of a Huayra roadster, but even after a couple of years, the Huayra remains a difficult car to ignore – no matter what kind of concept car exotica surrounds it, as is inevitably the case at Geneva. Not only is it completely unique in appearance, Pagani’s attention to detail is a legend in its own time.

It is powered by twin-turbocharged and intercooled SOHC 36-valve V-12 under its hood. Collaborating with Sonos Faber, Pagani introduced the custom Huayra sound system .That’s a lot of audio power to complement a car that already boasts of a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V-12 engine that produces 700 horsepower and 730 pound-feet of tire smoking torque Priced at $1,070,500, the Huayra is quite tempting with its top speed of 224 mph and can sprint to 60 mph in 3 seconds and 100mph in 6.4 seconds. The Pagani’s seven-speed sequential transmission, nestled transversely behind the differential to allow the engine to be mounted closer to the rear wheels, is of the older-school single-clutch variety.
